SF Election 2011: Anyone But Lee

There's an election next month.  You did know that, right?  Good, because you need to go to the polls and vote against Ed Lee.

In less than two weeks, San Franciscans must once again elect a mayor and other officers, as well as the usual horde of initiatives. Those of you who don't live and vote in San Francisco can just tune this one out.  If you're voting in SF, though, please read through for my recommendations on who to vote for and who not to.

Ten Reasons to Vote for Obama

First of all, voter registration deadline in most states is Monday, so get moving and get yourself registered.

Second, I'm voting for Barak Obama in a few weeks. I thought that I'd share ten of the reasons why.

Opposing Whole Foods

For my first "politics" entry, I'm going to post a little about some current attempts at development in my backyard. It is about food, though, specifically groceries. If you're not from San Francisco, don't bother with the rest.

Y'see, there's this group of yuppies and professional property developers (i.e. slime) who have bought run-down property on the Haight on the cheap, and are attempting to make a killing in real estate by turing the Haight into the Marina. This'll mean, of course, raising rents, evicting people, inviting in national chain stores, and driving a lot of locally owned businesses under.
