Just unloaded another Cone 6 Glaze firing at Yosemite Place. This firing had a number of notable successes, probably because I remembered to make a Kiln God this time. Above is the best: it's an ash glaze I call Creeper Ash, with 1% cobalt carbonate, over Bronze Dragon Matte. The latter glaze is a change of colorant from Green Dragon Matte from an old Ceramic Arts Daily article. I couldn't get Frasca Ash from that article to work at all with the madrone wood ash I'm using, but the Green Dragon Matte worked beautifully just by swapping Tin Oxide for the Titanium Dioxide.

First firing with the new glazes!

One of the things I've had time to do in my unemployment is spend some time in my studio. Yayy. Here's the first result: my first firing with my new Cone 6 glazes
Pictured above is a fun bowl I made using black-staining wax resist and every glaze I had in a random pattern. The rest of the pieces are documented with their pictures in the picture gallery.
Also, I'm excited to report that I will be participating in SF Open Studios for the first time this year! Come by and see me on October 25-26, in 1777 Yosemite, Studio #350.
