As I've mentioned before, I've been having problems getting a truly glossy copper glaze at Cone 6 Oxidation. When I raised this problem on the ClayArt mailing list, quite a few people reported the same problem, whereas some others have no issues at all. Recently, I tried a glaze another potter is using to produce a beautiful glossy copper celadon on their own work currently, and in my studio it turned satin.
So clearly there's some kind of materials problem. Therefore I've set up a survey to try to find out what the problem glazes have in common. If you fire green copper glazes in cone 6 oxidation, please take the survey now.
