Why you should boycott Smoking Loon and PepperWood

And Mia, and S|K|N and Aquinas Napa Valley.  All of these wines belong to billionaire

Don Sebastiani.

And you know how Don is using the millions he's made off those wines?  Funding California Proposition 4, which would deny teens access to abortions without parental permission.  Even if the parents were responsible for the pregnancy in the first place (yes, incest still happens, even in CA).

Teens do stupid things and take stupid risks.  Forcing a teenage girl to have a child she doesn't want and can't support can (and often does) destroy that girl's life.  And it's no good start for a child, either.

Also, like the usual "no teen abortion" bills, this one provides no recommendations or funding for sex education or birth control so that the teens can avoid getting pregnant in the first place.  Or for paying for the child, or adoption services, or anything else.

Obviously, if you are a CA voter you should go out and vote against Proposition 4.  For everyone else, hit Sebastiani where it hurts: boycott his wine.

Whoever knew that "Smoking Loon" wasn't just marketing, but descriptive of the owner?

So what are your feelings on Proposition 8? I was watching Leno the other night and Ellen Degeneres was a guest on the show and they were talking about this proposition.

Todd, Given that I have friends who are a married gay couple, I've given money to defeat the bill.

I've never figured out why the state (any government) cares and why it is their business who gets married. Age considerations aside. Too bad about the winery, I liked their wine.
